Hey all,

Happy Thursday. We have a shorter newsletter this week.

We want to first take a moment to say that we are incredibly saddened by the events going on this past weekend and this week in Israel.

We have a ton of tool and brand partners over in Israel - Triple Whale, Chargeflow, Fondue, Finaloop, Varos, Loox, Yotpo, Global-e and many more… we can’t imagine what you all are going through and our hearts go out to anyone impacted. 1-800-D2C is always here to support you and help in anyway that we can.

In this week’s edition, we want to highlight a new founder interview, a new D2C brand and a new tool we added to the 1-800-D2C directory.

We recently spoke with Kirsten Baumberger from minisocial in a new 1-800-D2C interview series called Behind The Tool. Kirsten is one of the most insightful and knowledgeable folks in D2C and shared the story behind minisocial and her thoughts on the current state of ad creative.

Brand of the Week: Create

Create

If you’re part of the D2C Twitter world, then you’ve certainly heard of Create and their orange creatine gummies. Their founder Dan is on a tear scaling the D2C brand to already mid 7-figures in revenue in under half of a year.

It’s been quite a fun brand to watch grow in such a short time period - Create brings a unique take on a product in a category that’s historically been undisrupted and that only serves a very specific customer for a very specific need.

Dan & Create are looking to grow the TAM of the creatine market by attracting new types and demographics of customers to creatine and opening up new use cases via their gummies.

Tool of the Week: Insense

Insense

Insense

Our tool of the week in Insense, an awesome UGC & ad creative tool for D2C brands. At 1-800-D2C, we get to see a lot of different types of ad creative platforms and Insense’s platform definitely stands out.

With the tool, you can do all of your creator sourcing, briefing and management all in a single, easy-to-use platform. They handle all of the boring and tedious aspects of creator content production (payments, copyrights, page access, etc). The platform is a one-stop-shop for everything you need to collaborate with creators for your brand - UGC, organic content for social channels and whitelisted ads.

A few top D2C brands on 1-800-D2C that leverage Insense are Bearaby, Obvi, Quip and Solawave. Insense is also part of 1-800-D2C’s Friend’s Rate program so you can save $200 on your first creator campaign with them.

D2C Tweet of the Week:

After what seemed like either an incredibly strong or incredibly soft month for D2C brands in September, Cody (CMO @ Jones Road Beauty) ran a poll for what operators were seeing so far in October:

It’s certainly been a weird few months - from Amazon hiring over 200,000+ for Q4 to seeing weak consumer spending data, no one really knows what’s going to happen as we approach BFCM.

At 1-800-D2C, we predict that October is going to be a slow month, consumer spending will be down and brands will struggle to post growth, but BFCM will crush and be significantly better than expected.

It feels like D2C brands are either struggling to get through this “pre-Q4” period or either running scorching hot without much of a middle ground. Regardless of where you stand, our Superbowl moment is almost here, so hang in there and keep things rolling!

That’s all from 1-800-D2C this week. Talk to you all next week!

- RC
