Under The Hood: Taylor & Millie From Stakt
We had an awesome chat recently with the co-founders of Stakt, the world’s first foldable yoga mat. Millie & Taylor are best friends from back in college and decided to partner up to build Stakt.
We covered everything from how they came up with the idea, the product development process, growth and customer acquisition as well as their keys to success.
Plus, we briefly chatted about their experience on Shark Tank and some unique things they are doing to build in-person community with Stakt.
Tool of the Week: Elevar
Meet Elevar, an exciting data & tracking tool in the 1-800-D2C directory. Elevar helps Shopify brands seamlessly scale with server-side tracking capabilities. Elevar offers the best way for D2C brands to capture the maximum amount of accurate 1st party data, and pass it back to the marketing channels. Enhanced data helps marketing platforms perform more efficiently via better event match quality scores resulting in and lower CAC and higher ROAS.
One key feature of Elevar is their Session Enrichment tool that allows D2C brands to take advantage of a one year user ID and combine it with the user's email, phone and other valuable user data. The tool is able to ensure that every action (add to cart, view item, etc) is sent back to the marketing channel and accurately reported. Generally, brands see a 20-40% bump in event data captured with Elevar which translates into more emails sent and incremental revenue generated.
Elevar is leveraged by tons of top D2C brands in the 1-800-D2C directory — Ridge, Vuori, Ryze and my own brand Rejuvia. We decided to onboarding wtih Elevar this past month and it's been an awesome experience and we're excited to reap the rewards of more accurate channel data!

Boys Lie - an apparel brand based in LA that celebrates love, heartbreak and more.
They have an incredible tagline: Boys fall in love with what they see. Girls fall in love with what they hear. That’s why Girls wear makeup & Boys Lie.
Boys Lie is founded by Tori Robinson and Leah O’Malley, childhood best friends, who teamed up to start building the brand in 2018. If you’re ever wondering how powerful “brand” can be in D2C, check out Boys Lie and you’ll learn pretty quickly.

New Brand: Rocco Fridge
Rocco Fridge - a recently launched (yesterday), sexy fridge for your home. It’s the world’s smartest drink fridge.
While Rocco does not yet have a robust tech stack as they just launched, we will certainly be keeping an eye on them over the next few months.
The founders of Rocco, Alyse and Sam, are clearly onto something in this category and we are pumped to watch how they do it D2C-style 💻️
